One of my favourite philosophers whose theories mirror my own feelings towards the question of reality.
Plato's theory of forms, to me is a pivotal idea. The idea that there is another plane of existence is a common theme among religious people as well as philosophers, but to plato this plane is not a physical place- nor can a physical manifestation be envisaged.
Plato believes in a plane of perfection, and I think that the theory of perfection being limited to an idea is brilliant. I believe that that is the only place in which 'perfection' can exist. In a metaphysical reality.
I think this theory of perfection should be applied to many aspects of life, as it doesn't exclude the possibility of perfection, rather it sends a positive message of optimism, and makes perfection seem more feasible, as it becomes an ideal on which to model life.
Perfection is attainable in accordance with Plato's theory. It is attainable without compromise.
